The first people to live on earth were Adam and Eve. God wanted them to have a good home, so He planted a beautiful garden in a place called Eden.

Trees of every kind grew in this garden. Some were pretty to see, and others were good for food. Animals played on the hills. Flowers peeped out of the ground. Rivers ran though the fields.

God told Adam and Eve to take care of the garden. He said, “Be fruitful and fill the earth.”

God loved Adam and Eve. He had made these first people in His very own image. They were holy. God visited them in the garden, and they were glad. He was their true Friend.
